Frequently asked questions

What is Ceolaire?

A community database of Irish albums and singles — browse, rate, review and build lists, plus a directory of Irish bands and music services. Ceolaire is independent and free.

Where does the release data come from?

Three places: the open MusicBrainz database, community submissions, and automated sweeps of Bandcamp and music-press review feeds. Everything user-submitted or scraped passes through moderation.

How are the scores calculated?

Two separate averages, both out of 100: the user score is the average of all community ratings, and the critic score averages published reviews we've logged from music publications. Scores from outlets that rate out of 5 or 10 are converted to /100.

An album or artist is missing — how do I add it?

Use the submit page. Clean submissions publish immediately; anything the language filter catches waits for a moderator.

Something's wrong on a page.

Send a correction from the submit page with a link to the page in question.

How do I get listed in the directory?

Sign in and go to Add your listing. Bands, studios, agents, photographers, venues — anyone working in or around Irish music. Contact details are optional; share only what you want public.

How do I delete my account or my data?

Email ceolaire.info@gmail.com from your account address and we'll remove it — see the privacy policy for details. Directory listings you can delete yourself, instantly, from the directory page.

Who runs Ceolaire?
