Briege Murphy is a singer-songwriter of contemporary Irish folk.Many songs described as" being rooted in the Irish tradition" Her songs have been recorded by many singers, including Niamh Parson, Frances Black and Aoife Scott. Frances Black ; "Briege paints pictures with her words". Colum Sands called her "Patrick Kavanagh's spirit- sister". Briege continues to write and perform.
