Summer's Blood

The album Summer’s Blood contains eight songs written by singer/songwriter Donal Byrne and features his main collaborator, virtuoso violinist Colin Moore. The title is taken from a line in Seamus Heaney’s poem “Blackberry-picking” and refers to the harvest and decadence of the wine-filled days of summers past. "You ate that first one and its flesh was sweet Like thickened wine: summer's blood was in it Leaving stains upon the tongue and lust for Picking"
