Recorded between Dublin and Cork, the album is the culmination of two years of gigging, capturing the raw energy of the live show in a harder, grittier yet more melodic sound. Heavy guitar riffs and thundering beats collide with harmonies, folk influences, whistles and bodhrán — though there’s not a trad song in sight. At its core, the album is a darkly humorous take on humanity’s seemingly unstoppable pursuit of destroying itself and the planet. It’s doom, death, war and social decay viewed through the WvHs lens: angry, absurd, sarcastic and sometimes painfully close to the bone. BANG BANG (You’re Dead) sets the tone.
