Origins I: The Cepravin Dry Cow / In Tua Nua Sessions

They say Trent Reznor IS Nine Inch Nails. Well, in this case, Hot Apple Pie IS Proto Box. These are the origins of Snackbox, the Hot Apple Pie years. Recorded at In Tua Nua's studio, these first sessions showcase an early incarnation of Snackbox, i.e. Proto Box, featuring Hot Apple Pie on guitar. With an eye on the rural pound, Proto Box approached Cepravin Dry Cow to sponsor the sessions. Cepravin executives expressed strong interest but ultimately had to decline due to the challenges in cross-marketing both products. After the Cepravin contract negotiations collapsed, Leslie Dowdall retracted her support from the band and barred any further use of the In Tua Nua studio.
