MPhil MMT Submission

This portfolio consists of two original compositions. Both pieces were recorded for the purpose of application to MPhil Music and Media Technology at Trinity College Dublin, using the Reaper DAW software. Both pieces were composed, performed, recorded and mixed by the applicant, Rónan Murphy. 1. Solo Guitar This was played on a Fender Stratocaster through a Vox AC-30 amp, and recorded in mono with a Shure SM-57 microphone. The session in Reaper contains two duplicate tracks panned hard left and right, with subtle differences in EQ to make use of the stereo field. Production on this recording was intentionally minimal in order to preserve as much as possible the sound of the Strat/AC-30.
