Enda Grennan’s first album as Pneumatic, entitled Mettā is a tape-saturated collection of densely packed yet spaced out textures incorporating some element of almost every popular genre of the past 20 years from UK garage to drum n bass and from New York house to bass focused hip hop. It is largely a culmination of four years of trying to coax 'musical' sounds from a modular synthesizer. The album title, Mettā relates to the Buddhist concept of close mental union and informs the artist’s intent to bring together genres that don’t normally live together into a cohesive whole – unified by texture and noise.
