Thrill and Bruit

Thrill and Bruit (pronounced broo-ee) Exactly two years ago, I was recovering from a successful kidney transplant. Thrill and Bruit explores the beginning of this period from the sudden diagnosis on into the strict regime of dialysis and drastic lifestyle changes for the next four years. Over the course of treatment, I was able to draw and take some phone recordings, these became the genesis of Thrill and Bruit. I scanned many of these drawings and imported them into sonification software. The resulting sounds were manipulated in Audacity & Ableton as were the early and more recent field recordings.
