Nocturne

When my kidneys failed I was reminded that my body, the human body is a machine and the dialysis machines are a part of larger network, the hospitals water works/filtration system which is connected to the local water mains. All these machines and systems need care and maintenance to function optimally. An image came to mind, that of the renal clinic at night after all the staff have left, the dialysis machines power up and begin 'singing'! The buildings air vents and pipes and other systems join in, all making their own 'music' which forms a symphony! This idea of interconnectivity formed the basis of what was to become Nocturne.
