In 1936, the celebrated field recordist, Ludwig Koch released the first commercial recordings of wild birds. This release later came with a book explaining his recording techniques, and when compared to modern methods, illustrates the labour of love it was. A few years ago, I found a copy of this release and purchased it. Those recordings have heavily influenced this EP. The patience needed to hear a birdcall. Then, the additional patience and luck required to get a good recording. The walking miles through bog and woodland. The mindful waiting to hear 30 seconds of a particular species. The wonder of hearing these recordings inside your home for the first time. Dúlra means 'nature'.
