The First Noella

Following the release of my last album, I was all geared up and ready to go on tour, when the Covid19 pandemic hit and knocked that on the head. All that energy had to go somewhere. So I sang for my supper on Sunday night Facebook sessions and in between I wrote until I found I had an unexpected album on my hands. Maybe it was all that time, alone, to think, that has made this such an intensely personal album. No pressure, no deadlines, it just flowed. When I walked into the studio, I had a really clear vision of the story I wanted to tell and co-producer Eamonn Karran, with his mad multi instrumentalism and love of subtle orchestration helped me realise it.
