In the midst of a raging storm, my friend and musician Stephen Mogerley and I had the privilege of venturing to the secluded studio of ambient maestro Simon O'Reilly, near the remote seaside village of Doolin in the West of Ireland. It was a journey of great mystery and anticipation as we braved the tempestuous weather to arrive at his doorstep. Settled into Simon's incredibly cozy studio, dimly lit by lamps and flickering candles, we looked out into the barren and windswept landscape of the Burren, feeling as though we had stepped into another realm.
