Koromebi. In real life, the space between the canopy and branches allows sunlight to gently filter through. In Japan, the dappled light this creates is called komorebi (pronounced koh-mo-reh-bee) and is made up of the kanji characters for tree (木), shine through (漏れ), and sun (日). In late Decemeber of 2021 while on a countryside walk on an incredibly still day I came across a very peaceful mini forest that still had much of the fallen leaves from Autumn carpeting the forest floor. The sun was low and the radiant beams of light really enhanced the already rich palette of vibrant tones at my feet.
