The Widows House

M Shutak is the musical alias of old friends and collaborators Gregory O’Brien and Gary Morrison. Melding piano, electronics, fiddle, toys, transistor radios and found sounds to create warm instrumental songs filled with memory and feeling. The result is a record which sounds like an old creaking house in springtime with the windows left open. The album was recorded and mixed by Darragh Nolan (Sacred Animals) over three days at Asta Kalapa studios in County Wexford, Ireland. It is a record to get lost in and reminisce with, like wandering through a haze of bygone days. “The Widows House” is the debut release on independent Irish label “Wow and Flutter”.
