Luxury Mollusc has been terrifying audiences for pretty much as long as I've been going to underground gigs. Seeing a live performance was an awakening for me. Droning, churning, unsettling, hypnotic. I didn't know whether I wanted to stay, leave, or throw up. Too often, live music doesn't evoke any real emotion, either positive or negative. I've never spoken to anyone after a Luxury Mollusc gig who has been ambivalent about their experience, be it positive or negative! This album is just great by the way. It's a beautiful distillation of the live sound.
