KAREN

“KAREN” is the one hundredth album by ex-boy wonder, current man-wonder Laurie Shaw. Recorded in his state-of-the-art, mountain-based bedroom studio, Alright late last year, “KAREN” is the sound of a future projected from a mid seventies Crayola composition. It features the single EDISON’S MEN. Where previous opus “Bat Sanctuary” injected French pop strings into the black and silver world of 2011 Kenmare, County Kerry, “KAREN” heads for the miniature city of Kandor with its neon dots and its glossy cherry red jet packs. Or does it head to Batman’s Bat Cave of 1966 where everything has a label and flashing globes pulsate?
