Welcome to Lacuna, a new imprint by Dublin-based DJ Cachai that aims to map out prescient club sounds from artists around the globe. Chile’s Ripio and London’s DJ Double Oh! are up first with a split EP showcasing four exhilarating tracks of hybridised latinx bass sounds from across both sides of the Atlantic. Lacuna… an unfilled space… a label recognising an opportunity to add to the dynamic conversations within the global bass music paradigm. Cachai, its founder, envisions this bright future via a sonic dialogue between artists from distinct corners of the world that opt to swerve dancefloor norms to instead forge new vistas through sub-heavy sounds and futurist rhythms.
