The Ring Lieder, an EP of four songs composed by Judith Ring on poems by Roderick Ford. Ring was so compelled by Ford’s poetry that she asked his permission to turn a selection of them them into songs. The two met while she was on a residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris in 2012 where Ford was living at the time. The poems: The Old Train, Amber, The Sylph and A Plate of Holes are embued with a sense of magic realism that lures the listener into a type of dream world. The music has attempted to enhance this feeling and bring another level of experience to the poems.
