Tales of Derwentdale

“Songs that were waiting to be written,” was how, “Tales of Derwentdale” was received when it was first released in the Spring of 1990. Derwentdale was the name given to the valley through which the River Derwent flows in north-west Durham and which historically formed the border between Durham and Northumberland in North-East England. We were born and raised here in what is now known as Derwentside and grew up surrounded by tales from the folklore, myths and historic events unique to the valley.
