20 going on 30

Hi there. I'm posting this on the 29th of January 2026, which means it's my 30th birthday today. Some time ago I realized that I've put out enough albums over the years that this would be my 20th album. I wanted to do something special to celebrate both of those at once; maybe explore my burgeoning interests in songwriting by doing a whole album of music full of lyrics that I'd perform and sing. To create something even a fraction as good as Tracey Thorn's "A Distant Shore", or maybe lean into some MIDI-heavy music production like the demos leaked for Prefab Sprout's "Jordan: The Comeback". But then the months got away from me, and I got busy with other things.
