Sean Nova - bossa nova as gaeilge
Hilary Bow"Sean Nova – bossa nova as gaeilge" 20th anniversary Re-Release, with lyrics. An Scéal In 2004, my jazz standards repertoire was in need of a fizz-up, and my love of the Irish language inspired an idea to translate Marlene Dietrich's “Falling In Love Again”. Soon after the notion, I ran into the lovely Liam O'Mathúna, Cork poet and educator, in Curraghbinny Woods, Co.Cork. He was really encouraging about my idea and offered to translate it. Days later I received a beautiful Irish language interpretation of “Falling In Love Again” - “Seo Mé i nGrá Arís”: Seo mé i ngrá arís, Níl mé saor gan dua. Cad tá romham inniú? Mo leathscéal. ... It flowed. The round vowels. The smooth, gentle sh's.
