Iguanodon

In 1822, British doctor and amateur geologist Gideon Mantell discovered fossil teeth and bones that would later be identified as those of the herbivorous dinosaur, Iguanodon. This was a crucial discovery in the early history of palaeontology that helped establish that a gigantic, extinct reptile had once existed on Earth.
