“What Happens in Cork, Stays in Cork" There’s a few reasons I decided give this name to this collection of songs… Firstly, I find myself explaining nightly events in Cork City with "It's what happens in Cork..." Over the years, in conversation about Cork City and County, I’ve heard it said: “If you love Cork, it has a way of keeping you…” and “If you marry a Corkwoman, you’ll end up living there…” and “Cork City is the only city in Ireland that hasn’t forgotten what it is” None of these would make good album titles but, in conversation with my eldest son Ruairi, discussing the carry on of musician friends of mine visiting Cork over the past few decades since the 1980s, he refashioned the old
