This is a live recording of a performance that took place in An Ionad Culturtha Dochtúir Ó Lionsigh on the 2nd February 2025. The project was originally conceived in 2018 in a conversation between old friends and had a long and twisted road to realisation. In the world of traditional music I'm known as a flute maker and player, but I was singing traditional songs for quite a few years before cocus wood, ivory, and silver began to take over my life. Belfast in the early 1970s wqs a dilemma for those involved in traditional music, given the increasing political and cultural polarisation of the time.
