GIRO - Galway International Retro Orchestra

GIRO started as a project between an international collection of musicians with the goal of bringing the sounds and atmosphere of the early 20th century back to the stage. Based in Galway City in the West of Ireland, GIRO plays a unique mix of traditional music from Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Ireland, performing on authentic instruments of the period. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anders Trabjerg hails from the west coast of Denmark. Playing the continental 5 row accordion since the age of seven, he became interested in traditional Irish music in his teens, focusing on 1 and 2 row accordions and melodeons.
