These Small Things Rebuild

Tape dragged at 2ips across stubborn magnets The ground opens up at our feet Walls tumble, ruins And we stagger Unable to open our eyes caked with dust To see the clouds part the sky above The sun washes everything golden Green shoots appear Huddle close my child These small things rebuild We paint over the cracks but the paint is chipped and the colours fade and the weeds have grown back through the window but if we change our thinking we could fix it properly but it's hard work and we're tired and there's something on the TV and we've got to take the kids to dance class tomorrow, maybe next month?
