'Saint’ chronicles the experience of a character who is tormented, confronted and seduced by ideas of impurity and consequence with lyrics that reference the torture and life of Catholic Saints including Saint Lucy and Saint Dymphna. 'Leatherface Girl' is song recorded in late 2024 which explores a narrator describing a character who feels immense shame about her appearance and dawns a leather mask to hide her shame. The story works as a gothic allegory for the experience of being trapped in a dysphoric cycle. These kinds of escapist characters which I have been dreaming up since 2016 as a way to cope have really saved my life.
