Nwyvre is the half of Whirling Hall of Knives that also operates as Sound Breaking Sky Last year's FEF tape Manifes represented his MO of recording live jams using a portable setup on road trips around Ireland. Lockdown forced a switch to home recording, naturally resulting in more structured and sequenced tracks. Though still full of exposed spartan beats and noisy drones, Grianan is more fleshed out, and a sunnier mood prevails. It also boasts exhilarating variety, its razor-sharp electro and minimal techno basis allowing flashes of hi-NRG, rave, industrial and synthpop.
