Diaphaneities

Since the turn of the millennium, Aidan Baker (ex-Toronto, now Berlin) has been exploring drone, ambient, post-rock, metal, psychedelia, improvisation and more across solo work, collaborations, and ongoing bands including Nadja and Caudal. Diaphaneities is a foray into a new and very specific soundscape, featuring thirteen minimal compositions built around piano, looped guitar fragments, stumbling rhythms and glitchy treatments. The general sound and mood is understated, doomy, luminous, static, and extremely icy. The overall sensibility falls somewhere between Jesu, Tim Hecker, Seefeel and Main.
