Audiopaint EP

audiopaint ep details bew (barrys electric workshop) audiopaint ep I came across a freeware programme called audiopaint. It converts pictures into sounds. It's a small programme with a small number of parameters to tweak. This limited palette was the starting point for this project. I wanted to make the recordings as quickly as possible to keep the ideas as immediate and raw as possible. Every track was started from audiopaint material to make coloured back drops, these set the tone for the following addition of drum machine, guitar, saxophone, trombone, and vocal. A number of deliberately noisy analogue recording treatments were used to add warmth and grit to the live instruments.
