Cork-based Irish duo Southbound Sounds, whose deep house and techno sounds have been picked up by the likes of Fish Go Deep, Chez Damier, Norm Talley, Delano Smith, Stuart Patterson, Mark Farina and many others, deliver here an EP dedicated to Detroit legend, Mike Huckaby. ‘Educator’, out on Deeper Groove Recordings in November, includes three tracks and a remix by fellow Irishman, John Daly. The title track is a seriously deep house excursion that samples Huckaby’s voice. “First of all, I’m a DJ, producer, sound designer and educator”, his voice reverberates, as a Huckaby-esque house groove cruises through below.
