The low groan of compressed rock (marble, gneiss, gabbro, granite) stretched to audible roar, strata on a continuum of deep time – a spectrum as close to eternity as appreciable. Boundaries collapse beneath the colossal trudge of geological time. Apparent fixity is merely movement at a slower rate. Rupture, rend, collide, collapse.
