Vocalist/writer Carol Keogh (The Tycho Brahe, The Plague Monkeys) and producer/composer Dunk Murphy (Sunken Foal, Ambulance) quickly follow up January’s critically acclaimed LP ‘Attenborough’ with a five track EP of brooding, combustible electronic songs. Crystalline fingerpicking, complex vocal harmonies, crushed electronics, wailing synths and nocturnal reverbs surround otherworldly laments. ‘Jeweller’ see’s NHM setting Keogh’s dedication to her late father within a falling lo-fi funk while the cover version of Si Schroeder’s ‘C4’ sparks with piercing stringed instruments and spacialised orchestrations.
