The beginnings of this album were constructed during the pandemic lockdowns, the initial drafts being recorded straight into a laptop microphone as no other instruments were close hand during this time. Each song started off as an improvisation, passing notes grasped in mid air, transient phrases conjured from unknown origins, the songs grew layer by layer, slowly formulating themselves into compositions. Linguistically, the voicings are more akin to poetic sound-images or gestures of speech, rather than being confined to any particular semantic meaning. Some lyrics appear in Latin and some are more closely related to Glosolalia; improvised articulations of words or speech-like sounds.
