Northland

Co. Antrim based singer-songwriter Bob Speers is by all accounts something of a renaissance man up around those parts. As a sculptor, painter, philosopher and musician, he is a former recipient of the Northern Lights Award - an honour bestowed for his contribution to artistic life in the region. Northland combines his gift for penning elegiac, reflective lyrics with strong accessible melodies, his deep resonant voice not sounding unlike Mark Knopfler’s and dominating the overall sound. Speers' major talent, musically, would appear to be a strong story-telling capability.
