The ever-changing state of the city, personal growth and a comforting nostalgia all came to influence the band’s third studio album. “The album was born out of a real time of flux both in our personal lives as well as in the country as a whole.” Jimmy said of a writing process that began in a pre-covid world and continued right through lockdown and beyond. “The universal thread that weaves through the songs is the struggle between contrasting extremes that change can bring about, and I suppose the comfort that can be gained from looking to the past-without letting it hold you back, getting bogged down in some kind of self-damaging nostalgia.”
