Dirty White Lies explores themes surrounding the portrayal of toxic love and abusive relationships, recognising when you’re in one and also having the ability to recognise when you’re being toxic yourself. Gone Girl focuses on the chaotic nature of growing up too quickly and the pains of having to navigate your own way in relationships without any prior experience to help.
