dyssomnias – selected works (10-12) represents the first collection of work by composer Barry O'Halloran. Drawing influence from the mid to late 20th Century avant-garde, O'Halloran has sought to create a body of work that explores themes of liminality and temporality in sound. The collection is comprised of seven works that utilize instrumental, environmental and found sound sources. dyssomnias was created over a two and a half year period during which the composer worked almost exclusively during the night – indeed this is where the title of the work is derived from.
