Classic Irish Melodies

The concept behind this album is to commemorate the music from around the time of 1916 as this will be very much in Irish minds, both at home and abroad over the next few years. So myself and Barbara started to look back for some songs that were not so well known but would perhaps invoke a feeling of the old Ireland. When we had selected the tracks to be performed, we decided on a very simple, one instrument approach to the recordings so we choose an August Forster piano which is about 100 years old. The gives the music a very quaint sound as this piano would have been very much “of the day”. We hope you enjoy listening to the music as much as we have enjoyed recording it.
