The Rainy Day

This was recorded on the same day, in the same studio, as New Moon. I wanted to create a similar vibe on this recording as I did on that one presenting the music as it was played alone in my kitchen during the Pandemic years. While they are two very different releases, released by different projects, they are, in a way, companions. On that note, The Rainy Day should be viewed as a prequel to New Moon. Irish fluting forms the bedrock to my years as a folk singer; my interest in Irish trad drew my attention to the wider world of folk music. I first discovered Irish trad in 2003 when I was 14 and took up the tin whistle that year and then the flute the year after.
