Virgin Mother Whore ... Woman

"Virgin Mother Whore ... Woman" plays with the connections and misconnections between lust, love and power between the sexes. Richly influenced by jazz, rock, and traditional Irish music, the songs playfully poke at, or blatantly challenge, society’s perception of female roles and personal beliefs. The story telling within the songs echo with the sean nós of our ancestors.This project challenges the concept of the feminine as the fairer sex; it observes how we treat our lovers and the misinterpretations in communication between us; it finds hope in the hopelessness of death and the life cycle; it renews and repents.
