Winter Station, pt. I

Winter Station is a facility far out in a place where the snow never melts and the wind always blows. There is ice on the windows and there are only a few tough trees hardy enough to survive. The facility was established at great expense. The people at this facility have not received any news, nor supplies, nor visits, nothing, for some time now. Their communication system seems to have stopped functioning. Strange digging sounds can be heard, but no one can locate the source. Things which aren't there are seen in reflections. Occasionally, someone will hear a new voice, but cannot find the speaker. What they don't yet realise is that this place has a memory of prior occupants.
