(featuring bats, hissing roaches, home crickets, various birds from the garden, weather conditions amplified via WSi [weather sensitive installation]) I realized, for playing kwatar (modified fret-less 4-string electric guitar with echoes & reverb), I need to feel very comfortable and "safe". Public performances are for me, even after so many years of performing, rather challenging and often stressful. Though I enjoy playing live and be a conduit for this experience. I decided, temporarily, to exclude kwatar (and ukutar) from my live set-up and concentrate on other elements such as plasmaphon, bubblaphon and sounds from environments surrounding the location.
