Of Comets and Kings

Yurtis Mayfield returns to Faoi Thalamh with ''Of Comets and Kings''; a collection of five improvised techno sessions, recorded live using only external hardware. Eager to take a step back from programming solely in Digital Audio Workstation's such as Ableton, Yurtis utilizes external hardware such as the MPC One, Roland TR6-S and Behringer MS-1 for this techno outing. Fusing classic 909 rhythms, detroit-style arppegiated loops and old-school SH-101 type bass leads, Yurtis embarks on an interstellar journey exploring the similarities between many characters in medieval Irish narratives and the historical appearance of comets.
