Mullagh Gearr

Mullagh Gearr is a series of multi-channel sound works based on field recordings made along the Mullaghmore Peninsula on the west coast of Ireland. The recordings were collected around the site associated with the lost village of Mullagh Gearr, whose presence persists through landscape and oral history. The recordings are transformed using techniques that preserve their structure in time, while gradually altering their sonic character. Familiar elements, waves, wind, and distant resonances, remain perceptible as their spectral qualities slowly shift, producing an evolving sonic environment.
